Stress Engineering Services, Inc. (SES), located in Houston, Texas, was the principal research firm that oversaw the engineering evaluation of APPW. SES has an extensive background in the evaluation and testing of pipeline systems. They have conducted several large research programs involving the assessment of corrosion and mechanical damage and their effects on structural integrity. Because of their experience and background, APPW was able to be properly evaluated, assuring that the critical facets of repair using composites were addressed.
